Blue-eyed Babe

In August, my hubby and I welcomed our cute little baby boy. Now, with a girl and a boy we are apparently the 'million dollar family'. When people mention that, I like to say 'yes, and we're still waiting for the cheque'. lol!

It's so amazing to me how our 2 kids are so similar, yet so different at the same time. When our daughter was born she had A LOT of hair and it was very dark. When our son was born I was kind of shocked that he had very little hair and it was so blonde. One thing that is similar about both of them is their eyes as babies. If we took a picture of our daughter when she was awake her eyes were WIDE open. Our little dude is exactly the same and his eyes are such an amazing blue colour. I love them!

One thing that I like to do for our kids is do a little mini-shoot for them each month for the first year. They change SO much in that first year and it's so much fun to document those changes. The picture below is of our little guy at 3 months.

Blonde Beauty

Just over 3 years ago, I became a Mom for the first time and soon realized how quickly a little person can change your life. Cuddling with my sweet baby girl and watching my hubby hold her like she was a precious, fragile doll are just a few of the things I will remember about the first few weeks of her life.

A couple of weeks ago, my blonde-haired beauty turned 3! I can't believe it! I think it seems even more unreal because she's going to school in September. I keep thinking 'is my little girl REALLY old enough to go to school'? When we do little things throughout the day I find I'm asking myself 'how will she put her jacket on by herself?', 'how will she eat her lunch by herself?', etc. In many ways she is very grown up, but she still needs help with other things. It will definitely be hard to watch her go off to school, but I know she will have a TON of fun because she LOVES to learn. For now, I am cherishing the little moments we have together.

On her birthday, I took a few pictures of my big girl. If she's anything like her Mommy she will enjoy looking back at these pictures when she's older.

Generations

My kids are so lucky to still have two Great Grandmas in their lives (my Dad's Mom and my Mom's Mom). I wanted to capture the special bond that GG (my Mom's Mom) has with the kids without photographing her face because, as beautiful as she is, she doesn't like having her picture taken. I love that these photos show the tiny little hands and feet of my kids and the older, mature hands of my Grandma. These will really be images that we will cherish.

Sweet Baby Boy

Sara is a friend of mine from high school and she just recently had baby #2. I was looking for people who would be willing to let me photograph them and Sara came to mind. Sometimes after the first baby it takes more effort to get the camera out and snap those shots of baby #2. I hope that these pictures will give Sara and her little one some reminders of just how tiny he once was. We all know just how quickly they grow up!

Thanks again Sara!
