Connor, 1 month old

Today I had the opportunity to do a new baby photo session for Melissa and Patrick's little man, Connor. (Melissa is featured in my last blog post) Connor was born exactly a month ago today when I was in the hospital with Josh. When Melissa was in labor Patrick came and got me and I got to have a little chat with them. It was so unreal! I've never been in a L&D room when someone was having a baby...other than myself. I even got to see their new baby boy when he wasn't even a day old. His birth weight was a just a bit higher than Josh's, but he still felt SO tiny in my arms. I feel like I know Connor so much already after having watched him grow in his Mama's tummy, photographing Melissa while she was pregnant, seeing her in labor, seeing Connor at a day old and now photographing him at a month old.

Enough of the mushy stuff though. Have you seen how much hair this little dude has?!? WOW! And he is SO alert! Melissa was SUPER smart and brought out a little heater and cranked it up in the area that we would be doing the pictures in. It was perfect!! We did some 'awake' pictures and then Connor started to get a bit hungry so we took a break to let Melissa feed him. After that he was totally content and slept like...well...a baby! Next time Josh doesn't want to sleep I'm going to take him over to Melissa and she can get him to sleep. :)

Pregnant Mama & Big Sister

Right now I should be packing for our mini vacay, but I couldn't hold off on posting this! I still have a few hours and I'm *hoping* that both kids will nap this afternoon so that I can get my list accomplished.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to do a maternity photo shoot for Melissa. She and her husband, Patrick, have a little girl, Makayla (almost 2) and Melissa just gave birth to their second little one, Connor. I was so excited to have the chance to provide Melissa some memories of her pregnancy and also take some pictures of Makayla (who is SERIOUSLY cute!).

We made things super casual for Makayla and just photographed her playing and having fun with Mommy. Then when Makayla was playing with her Aunt we did Mommy's pictures. Melissa and I had a great time sharing pregnancy stories and chatting about life with 2 kids. Doing these maternity shots really brought me back to being pregnant with Josh. I remebered all the movements, the sleepless nights (getting up several times to use the washroom!) and tiredness. Despite all this AND the fact that Melissa had had a few false labours, she was a great model and was SO easy going!
