I've been neglecting the blog lately, but I can't say I'm really sorry about that. Having a (newly turned) 4 year old, an almost 17 month old and a 6 week old is pretty busy in itself. When you add in all the other 'life' things like Leah going to school (holy homework, Batman!), church activities and um...making dinner, it's a wee bit insane sometimes. I often think about doing a blog post and then the time slips away and I've forgotten what I was going to write about. I know you Moms out there can relate. :)
Even though this is our life right now I'm really trying to make having fun and making memories an important part. Yes, I like to have some kind of order in my house so that I can function (ie a meal plan and clean clothes - thanks to my hubby!!), but when my babies are no longer babies they won't remember that the house was clean. I have a hard time following this sometimes (ok, scratch that....most of the time), but I always remember this little poem that my Nanny shared with me:
If you should come to see me now,
You'd notice there is dust;
The breakfast dishes are not done;
The children's beds are mussed.
But if you'd look around some more -
Peek in each youngster's mind -
You would be gratified, I know,
At what you're sure to find.
There'd be a memory, fresh put there,
Of morning pillow fights,
Of singing, splashing in the tub,
And flying homemade kites.
You'd soon feel sorry for families
Where things are kept just so;
Where clocks rule with malicious hands
And child fun cannot grow.
A house with children has no right
To be straightened up by ten.
When this is so, time's cruel routine
Has robbed a child again!
Of course, in my life, part of making memories is taking pictures. I'm excited to photograph some new babies over the next few weeks and give them and their parents moments to remember for a lifetime. If you are currently expecting (or know someone who is), it is a good idea to contact me for a newborn photo shoot now. When you have a new baby those first few weeks fly by so quickly, but those are the best moments to do their special pictures. It is never too early to book this shoot so send me an e-mail today (taracollyer@rogers.com) and we can chat! :)
I know I left everyone hanging with my last blog post, but I'm not quite ready to share the changes yet. For now, I'll leave you with one of the newer pictures of my babe.
